Tennis fans are planning to print 1000 'Where is Peng Shuai?' t-shirts in protest at Saturday's Australian Open final, after the organisation banned clothing in support of the Chinese player.

A GoFundMe page has reached over $15,000 AUD in donations with fans planning a protest for theThe Chinese tennis player who temporarily disappeared after accusing a high-ranking Chinese government official of sexually assaulting her temporarily disappeared off social media when she made the allegations last November.

But fans are looking to raise awareness and continue the fight to ensure Peng’s wellbeing is not forgotten and GoFundMe organiser Drew Pavlou says they aim to print 1,000 t-shirts for spectators attending the women’s final on Saturday. ‘I think if any of us were in Peng Shuai’s position, silenced and cut off from the world by an unaccountable government, we would hope that someone, somewhere would care.‘I think most of us would hope that people across the world would not look the other way but instead raise as much noise and hell about it as possible. This is the idea behind printing off a thousand Peng Shuai shirts for the final.
