Damp, debris and falling ceilings - a BBC investigation into accommodation for asylum seekers has uncovered serial concerns about housing conditions.
A fourth contract paid for a national phone line, Migrant Help, to handle complaints and pass them to the housing companies. "I was in the room upstairs, and all of a sudden I heard a noise and the missus was on the floor... all the plaster and wood was on her head," said Adam. "My baby was shouting and screaming.""I could have lost my baby that day. I think it's in the system where things are going wrong - it's not the people - I think it's a system."
There is no suggestion Adam and his family's incident is the norm - but research indicates that neither was it an isolated experience. But a September 2021 Home Office survey of asylum seekers, obtained by the BBC, hints at a mixed picture. Only six out of ten respondents were happy or very happy with accommodation.
Yet we are led to believe they live in the Savoy by Farage and his merry delinquents.
This would be story if these people were refugees and not migrants. Dishonesty of ones past should mean 3year ban on applying for residence here.
Asylum seekers, you mean illegal immigrants, plenty of jail cells for them, which is where they should be
Who's to say they don't wreck the properties because the accommodation is not in the right town/city that they want to live in, they often dont want to integrate into UK life but into there own culture in another country.
Did the BBC staff happen to see the ITV investigation into bad homes occupied by our existing population ? What priority would BBC give to each ? Because they cannot have all the same …..
How about army veterans living on the street first!!
I bet they are wrecking it all to get a new home .. .they are not bloody stupid
Yeah. The fact they're given any is a big concern of mine.
Ceiling caved in in my old place but nobody gave a damn. But if it happens to a few asylum seekers, watch the BBC jump in. The reality is, most asylum seekers live in better accommodation than the taxpayers who fund it
Maybe they could have a much larger version of this at Dover aimed at France
So ….
Didums don't the FREE accommodation FREE food FREE Phone FREE cash no good for you DON'T LIKE IT GO BACK HOME

More concerned about them raping our woman than whether their trip advisor review will be any good.

Really old news, catch up!
Send them back then there is no problem
Some people need to stop encouraging asylum seekers to risk there lives from France to come to these conditions ie the uk border force and certain organisations
Can we show concern for the genuinely poor UK population before we start concerning ourselves with economic migrants?
Escaping war torn France and Europe
Took in by people smugglers promising them utopia. 20,000 food banks in this country, people who haven't got a roof over their heads and others having to choose between heating their homes or eating. They're free to leave.
Can’t be worse than where they came from
Should put them in 5 star hotels
Well, they left a perfectly safe country.. What did they expect a pot of gold? Who is telling them this country is good, it is far from it.
