Sweden forward Kosovare Asllani has criticised the video assistant referee at the 2022 Women’s European Championships for using “50 per cent fewer cameras” than in the men’s game.
However, speaking ahead of the match, she criticised UEFA’s decision to have fewer VAR cameras in operation. “I think it’s strange because I like VAR, I think it’s fair when they have it, but if we have one game where they make a mistake, because they draw the line on the wrong side, and we heard they don’t have the same number of cameras, for me it’s not acceptable.”
