- Lidl, Co-op, Sainsbury's and Tesco have also adopted the same policy.
At the time, Tom Ironside, from trade body the British Retail Consortium , said that while shops are doing "everything they can" to support the safety regulations, it is up to the police to enforce the rules. He added: "The ultimate responsibility remains with customers who must ensure that they wear a face covering when going into stores."If you're unable to get your hands on a mask you can make your own at home.
Homemade masks won't offer the same level of protection as medical-grade ones, but it hasn't stopped DIY tutorials popping up online. You then cover each end with masking tape - and you can even tape down some wire to stiffen the mask, if you have any.If you don't have elastic bands you could also use a hair tie.if someone refuses to cover their face in stores.
She said that while some young people don't think that contracting Covid-19 is a "big thing for them", it's not fair on
Is that because most Asda shoppers are knuckle draggers?
I work for the co-op , all the staff wear masks to encourage shoppers to do the same, other shop staff don’t do it,
😂😂, people have to use their commonsense, f**k, not in the u.k. some people are thick as shit.
1 shop today i didnt wear a mask & got asked why not wear 1 i said am excempt the shop assistant said have i got a letter from my doctor stating why i cant wear a mask & the reason i did state that cant get a apointment with doctor the sales assistant said no mask no entre
My niece told me today I'm wearing my mask the wrong way round. Shes 13. And as it turns out, way smarter than me!
Don't wanna wear one? Fine by me, if u wanna kill yourself then go ahead, just take me with you SELFISH
A lot of people don’t the elderly cover the mouth and mask under the nose what they protecting from bad breath
Why don't Asda and the other stores employ security guards to enforce the rules. They have enough money to do so
Same in Sainsbury’s about half of the customers only wear a mask
Leave us alone. Why I don't wear one is none of your business.
Typical asda cop-out! They know their feckless customers won’t comply but don’t want to stop them as they buy trolley loads of rubbish to keep the tills ringing and now of course people infecting others is just too bad!
Can they just ban the bedwetting moaning customer?
I always wear one. Cos I like to smell my own breathe 🤣😂 I went to Asda & Morrison’s & everyone has given up
Useless. ‘Bolting the stables door after the horse has got away’.
If shops adopted the 'you don't have a face mask? Jog on the unless you can prove you have a medical except letter' policy then there isn't an issue. Problem is shops needs every custom so scared to refuse entry. If all doctors, nurses and medical staff can wear them so can you!
Not a the shops fault. Comical tits will always exist
That's exactly it. The staff are on minimum wage and not fair on them to risk the abuse they could potentially get
They have said from the start they are not going to enforce mask wearing and to be honest why risk being verbally or physically assaulted. Only police can issue fines even they’ve said that will be a last resort it’s not like they’re going to stalk the aisles of a supermarket 🙄
asda and Tesco and sainsburys only care about profits- they won’t uphold the law (unless it hurts their profits like Shopfitting) and seem not to care about staff or customer safety either
The best question to ask a complainer is 'are you looking to swap jobs and enforce masks for a minimum wage?'
