Manchester Arena attack survivors lose bid to be represented at public inquiry

A total of 600 adults and 340 children were injured in the blast after an Ariana Grande concert on 22 May 2017, the court heard.

Mr Greaney said many survivors would give evidence at the hearings and they were being encouraged to raise any issues with the inquiry team. The judicial review was heard by Dame Victoria Sharp, the President of the Queen's Bench Division, and Mr Justice Garnham. In the ruling, Dame Victoria said the survivors' application was"out of time" as it was made several weeks after the 14-day cut-off following Sir John's decision on 21 April.

"We would in any event have refused permission to apply on the ground that the claim itself is not arguable," she added.Image copyrightTwenty-two people were killed and hundreds injured when Salman Abedi, 22, detonated a suicide bomb as fans left the arena. Why not follow BBC North West on

Let me guess _ Government any lessons from this enquiry will be implemented immediately Now where have I heard that before ?

That is shocking. Once again our judiciary are proving to be not fit for purpose.

WHY? WTF Is going on?

Shameful

I don't the answer to this question...perhaps someone could answer it....Were the survivors of gtenfell fire allowed to be represented at that enquiry?

Incredible! Another Tory cover up! This government cares more for the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group than it does its own people! Search the Sanabel relief charity. Sara PropertiesLtd. Ozlam Properties ltd and Meadowbank investments ltd. You’ll all be amazed! AndyBurnhamGM

All victims of racist violence from brown extremists

All that white privilege 🤦🏼‍♀️

Why? They certainly were “core participants” on the day!!

While at a venue it is the responsibility of the owners to keep you safe..They didn't so responsibly falls on them

What a shock, but let's give legal aid to the low life scum that cause these atrocities. Look after our own, not in this country. Next we'll be apologising to the terrorist bastards.

Never forget what the British Govt asked the Royal Navy to do...

Survivors obviously not black enough to play the race card.

Sensible decision

Praise be to Allah, who has made the Islamic State a thorn in your eyes, a choking pain in your throats, a spear in your chests, and a rage burning in your hearts..

Why not?

😡

Why do these things take so long? This was years ago. It's not that complex...

Of course they do. Meanwhile...

How can it be a public inquiry if they are not represented?

Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?

May Allah accept Sally jones.... what is coming will be more wretched & more bitter insha Allah

😡

Grenfell Tower fire engineer did not look at cladding plansAdvice that works would not raise fire risk was given without reading document, inquiry told This is a consequence of cuts to the fire service and a government eager to reduce 'red tape'. It runs the risk of things not being scrutinised once another area or department has said things are fine. If this is really the case and standard practice in the construction industry I'm not sure I'll go in another building again in my life! The lack of accountability and personal pride in doing a job properly is truly astounding. People died because 'no asked me' words fail me! UK building standards used to be high but they have fallen an unacceptable amount in the last 15-20 years so called 'sustainability' has replaced safety, we are left with neither
