Seymour Island is much closer to Argentina than it is to the South Pole. Similar temperatures were reached in the 1980s. At the South Pole right now, as I write this the temperature at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole station is -39C (-56C with wind chill)
So penguins seem to be out on a trek. It's summertime in the Southern Hemisphere.

It seems this single measurement was taken at a point as far from the South Pole as Oslo is from the North Pole. Alarmists and BBC need to ask themselves: 1) would they be as hysterical if Oslo reached 20C in August; and 2) would they pretend that 20C applied to the whole Arctic
That’s about 70°F, global warming naysayers, because I wouldn’t expect you to know how to convert from Celsius.
