Anger as local police union chief calls George Floyd a 'violent criminal'

The president of the Minneapolis police union has written to its members calling George Floyd a “violent criminal”, describing those protesting over his death as terrorists and criticizing the city’s political leadership for not authorizing greater use of force to stop the rioting.

Omcf10 from ABC news: 'Under 'other significant conditions” it said Floyd suffered from heart disease and hypertension, and listed fentanyl intoxication and recent methamphetamine use.' (not justifying excess force by this cop but this Floyd guy wasn't Mr Clean)

first off if you know anything about MN, you know that many of the residents of low income area have migrated from Chicago in the late 80's and since. When they state 80% werent from MN, it means 80% were not born in MN.

Imagine... I mean, a heart patient being forcibly submitted whilst suffering a coronary event, who else is blame? FOR an alleged utterance warrant. Funny how that news piped down to the world moments before we got the news.

My God whatever next? Even if this is true, it doesn't in anyway detract from the fact George Floyd is dead, needlessly, and that his family are grieving. What an absolutely shocking thing to say.

He had committed a crime previously for which he served time, that's an undisputed fact. He was not pulled over and murdered for committing a crime. He appears only to have been guilty of being black. This is total nonsense from yet another uniformed racist.

Calling him 'chief' is misleading. He's president of the Police Officers Federation of Minneapolis.

This is the result of perpetual adversarial relationship between a public union and a government.
