'Connie can now have a happy future filled with love and happiness'
Connie now has a happy ending to her story.
Connie the yellow Labrador almost didn’t make it, due to horrific abuse from her previous owner. The abandoned dog was found in a terrible way by a member of the public, at Sherdley Park in Merseyside.Connie was quickly rushed to White Cross Vets where she was treated for her multiple gaping wounds.
With no microchip, the team assumed the deserted canine had received her serious injuries as a result of being used as ‘dog fighting bait.’ They also found signs of further human abuse, such as bruised kidneys.Connie after receiving treatment (Picture: Jam Press/White Cross Vets)
Due to her lack of owner, Connie’s surgery was predominantly funded by the White Cross clinic’s care fund and North West Labrador Rescue. What’s more, staff gave up their days off and weekends to care for her, unpaid, after developing a soft spot for the sweet creature. headtopics.com
