Had the tory government carried on funding the NHS at the same level as they inherited in 2010 they would currently be spending an extra £18.54 billion per annum. Over the last nine years they have extract £84 billion from health to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy.
Last year my 80 year old mother who suffers from Dementia was left on a hospital trolley for 7 hours when she had a broken femur. The top of the femur was completely sheared off, she must have been in incredible pain. Absolutely disgusting that she was treated in this way.

A lot of the strain on the nhs is self imposed problems. Alcohol, smoking, drugs and obesity related issues. Sort those out and genuine patients will be seen a lot quicker.

How many patients does the the A&E target represent? Is it the same as 2004 or do we think it may have increased? Shame the article only has %ages that can be misleading. 83% in target today might be more patients that 95% in 2004.

I waited from 8pm to 5:20am for my daughter to be seen by a doctor after a fairly heavy head injury and vomiting afterwards. Having driven to A&E myself as 999 suggested an ambulance would be over an hour.

My local hospital hasn't lost a single bed. My most recent admission it took nearly 24hrs to get a bed & a long wait to even get seen. Think they were 40 short. Purely a demand issue. That's not the governments fault. A lot of idiots arriving at A&E for issues they should see GP
