Former WWE Superstar Paige left fans shocked and delighted last Wednesday (September 21) when she made her AEW debut during Dynamite Grand Slam.

Now known by her real name Saraya, the former Diva's Champion made a surprise appearance after the culmination of the four-way match for the AEW Women's Championship, involving Toni Storm, Athena, Britt Baker, and Serena Deeb.

But fans have one big question after Saraya's debut: has she been cleared to wrestle?

Back in January 2018, Saraya had been forced her to retire from in-ring competition due to a neck injury. She then went on to work as a manager for WWE and as GM of SmackDown.

In June of this year she announced she would be leaving WWE when her contract expired, after not being used on TV for more than 750 days.

While neither Saraya nor AEW have clarified her status, Dave Meltzer wrote in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that she is yet to be cleared to wrestle, which is why she didn't get physical during her debut.

"We were told that she had not been cleared as of very recently, which would explain not touching anyone, but would like to be cleared," Meltzer wrote.

Following her AEW debut Saraya told fans on Twitter: "Fucking WOW! Absolutely blown away by the pop in the stadium and the reception outside of it.

"Been a long journey. Couldn’t be happier to be in @AEW thank you to everyone! and thank you to my babe @RonnieRadke for letting me use his song Zombified! LFG!!"

She is scheduled to address AEW fans live for the first time on this week's edition of Dynamite (September 28).

Catch AEW Dynamite live every Thursday at 1am in the UK and Rampage every Saturday at 3am on FITE with an AEW Plus subscription. US customers can also watch Dynamite on TBS and Rampage on TNT, and in the UK, Dynamite repeats air on ITV4.
