A royal insider has claimed that The Queen is “fed up with Harry and Meghan drama” and wants the bullying claims surrounding Meghan Markle to be handled privately so a “line” can be drawn.
The Daily Mail reports that a palace insider told Vanity Fair’s Katie Nicholl that Her Majesty, 96, wanted the inquiry to be handled privately in a bid to avoid any further problems with the Royal Family's public image.
The royal insider said: “The queen feels there has been enough drama around the Sussexes, and she wants a line to be drawn.”
OK! has contacted Buckingham Palace and representatives for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for comment.
The Palace will not be releasing their conclusions of the investigation to the public, but had confirmed the investigation had now reached an end and that changes have already been implemented.
The private investigations, which were looking into allegations against the Duchess of Sussex, were said to have focused more on how staff handled the complaints, rather than scrutinising details of the allegations themselves – which Meghan, 40, has always denied.
The private investigation was launched in March 2021 and was believed to be funded by a senior member of the Royal Family.
It came as a result of reports the Duchess drove out two personal assistants and that staff were left "humiliated" by her tone and demeanour on several occasions.
The Duchess' lawyers denied the allegations at the time, and the mum-of-two has continued to deny them as the investigation progressed.
A senior palace source reportedly told Sky News: "Because of the confidentiality of the discussions we have not communicated the detailed recommendations.
"The recommendations have been incorporated within policies and procedures wherever appropriate and policies and procedures have changed.
"So all members of staff, all members of the royal family will be aware of what the policies and procedures are, the revised policies and procedures," the source added.
Meghan and Prince Harry are believed to be pleased with the results of Buckingham Palace's investigation.
A source close to the couple claimed that the pair are "happy" Meghan's name has been "cleared", and that they are looking to "move on with their lives" in California.
Speaking to Us Weekly, the source said: "Meghan is a fair boss and never bullied anyone who worked for her at the Palace in the first place. She’s happy that her name has been cleared from the defamatory claims.
"She and Harry are looking forward to putting the incident behind them and are happily moving on with their lives in Montecito."
