Strictly Come Dancing's Motsi Mabuse may have entered The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer tent as a contestant, but she emerged a baking pioneer.
In tonight's episode (April 12), Mabuse joined Olympian Mo Farah, actress Katherine Kelly and actor-comedian Ben Miller in baking a batch of lemon and pistachio Italian biscotti, a meringue roulade and even a 3D cake in a bid to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer.
But in the process, one of the dancer's creations was crowned a baking innovation in its own separate league.

During the first round, Mabuse hit a rough spot as her roulade disintegrated, its crust crumbling under the weight of the cream when she attempted to roll the bake.
Panicking, she resorted to cutting the sweet into three smaller cream-oozing slices and topping it with mango. As an ode to Strictly, she also added a disco ball.
"It's all about the taste," she said cheekily.

Fortunately for her, while Paul and Prue were left amused by the pastry's appearance, they both agreed the result was simply delicious. Goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover.
In fact, the judges loved the mango twist so much, Paul gave it its own title.
"I think you might have invented something," noted Prue.
"It's the Motsi Meringue Mess," Paul retorted with a laugh, which definitely piqued Mabuse's interest as she immediately "called" for her lawyers to secure copyrights.

While the charismatic judge did not end up winning the title of Star Baker – that honour went to Miller's elaborate Robin Hood's Bay cake – she did go on to make a very touching tribute to her childhood with her 3D cake.
For the task of making a cake reminiscent of a precious childhood memory, Mabuse, who hails from Mankwe, recreated a dancing competition she had participated in when she was a young girl back in South Africa.
"Growing up in South Africa was a bit tough I have to say," she said. "Stepping into the dance floor brought all the colours of the world into my life."
The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix.
