MPs back proposal to give British Sign Language legal recognition

MPs have backed a bill that would give British Sign Language legally recognised status in the UK.

EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis, who was Strictly Come Dancing’s first deaf contestant, called for the change in the law, which will mean sign language will be used when public announcements are made.
