Taylor Swift fan arrested after he 'crashed his car into her NYC apartment building and attempted to rip intercom off the wall'

A man has been arrested after he allegedly crashed his car into Taylor Swift's New York City apartment building before attempting to rip the intercom off the wall.

According to TMZ, the individual in question was taken into custody after he allegedly drove the wrong way down Taylor's street before going in reverse and hitting the building and fire hydrant.

After getting out of his car, the man is then said to have been mumbling about the pop star, 32, as he attempted to remove the intercom off the front door to her building.

A 911 phone call was placed and the man was placed into custody by NYPD and taken to the hospital. TMZ says he was presumably sent to the hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

He also allegedly told police officers he refused to leave the area until he met the superstar.

Police claimed the man was drunk. He is now facing potential charges for DWI and criminal mischief.

It is unknown if Taylor was at her apartment at the time of the incident.

This is not the first time Taylor has been targeted by an unwanted guest.

Over the summer, the songstress dealt with a stalking scare after a man was arrested for trying to enter her NYC apartment.

Patrick Nissen, 28, entered the vestibule of Swift's apartment building before police were called to the scene, TMZ reported.

'I was doing what felt comfortable,' Nissen told the New York Daily News as he left Manhattan Criminal Court.

The Daily News asked Nissen about his fascination with the Love Story singer and he replied: 'What, you don't know about her?'

'I love her,' Nissen told the outlet.

Luckily, the pop superstar wasn't in her apartment when Nissen entered the building, law enforcement sources told TMZ.

Nissen was initially charged with criminal trespassing but pleaded guilty to a violation of disorderly conduct and was sentenced to community service.

It currently remains if Taylor Swift was in the building at the time of the incident

In April 2021, a 52-year-old man named Hanks Johnson was arrested after trying to force his way into Taylor's Tribeca apartment building, according to the New York Daily News.

It was part of a pattern with the man, who reportedly had shown up to her apartment building at least five times in the the six months leading up to that incident.

In 2018, Page Six reported that Roger Alvarado, a 22-year-old man from Florida, had tried to break into her townhouse.

Police sources said at the time that he had managed to enter after using a ladder to climb up to a window and breaking it.

While in her home he reportedly took a shower and then went to sleep in one of her beds.

Several other men have also been arrested for stalking the singer and trespassing in recent years.
