Premier League clubs on alert as Fiorentina director says Dusan Vlahovic is available for sale this January, offering Arsenal transfer boost

Arsenal have been offered a huge boost in their pursuit of Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic, with the Italian club’s director insisting his striker is for sale in the January transfer window.

Vlahovic has continued his record-equalling 2021 form into the new year, and is attracting more and more interest from Europe’s top sides.

A whole host of clubs such as Juventus and Tottenham have seen their names mentioned alongside the Serbian, but Arsenal seem to be the only team making moves.

Reports have claimed that the Gunners have already lodged a bid in the region of £50million, with Lucas Torreira included.

That deal would fall short of Fiorentina’s £70m valuation, but even so it appears the situation is far more complicated amid interest from Juventus.

The 21-year-old’s representatives appear unwilling to talk to Arsenal, but Fiorentina’s general director, Joe Barone, has invited offers.

"Some English clubs showed up with Fiorentina for Vlahovic, but there is no agreement,” Barone said. 

“We, in any case, are available. 

“In any case, there have been no openings by the agents towards us. And luckily I had asked for clarity."

The statement seems to be a clear message that Fiorentina are open to losing their star man this month, rather than waiting until the summer.

Vlahovic has a whopping 17 goals in 21 Serie A games this season, and is leading the club to an unexpected challenge for European football after years of mediocrity.

It now appears though that a mega offer from the Gunners could perhaps seal one of football’s hottest properties.
