The Book of Boba Fett season 1 spoilers follow.

Ming-Na Wen has had an interesting response to a Mace Windu fan theory in The Book of Boba Fett.

The actress is currently playing the bounty hunter's mercenary ally Fennec Shand in the Disney+ series about a lost chapter in the life of Boba Fett.

Throughout the series thus far, Star Wars fans have started speculating that there have been subtle hints at an eventual appearance from Samuel L. Jackson's Jedi master Mace Windu from the prequel trilogy.

Episode 1 dropped the first hint when a flashback showed young Boba Fett cradling Jango's Mandalorian helmet following his death at the hands of none other than Mace Windu. In fact, Windu actually beheaded Jango!

The flashback is striking because it combines prequel scenes and new footage shot specifically for The Book of Boba Fett, leading to questions about why Jango's death was brought up so early in the show.

When Digital Spy recently chatted with Ming-Na Wen about The Book of Boba Fett, she made some interesting comments when asked if she's familiar with the Mace Windu theory.

"Yeah. Tem [Morrison] brought up his name in one of our interviews," she told us. "He pronounced the name really well in his New Zealand accent. It's kind of like answering a question without really answering it, isn't it?"

There's one big problem with the theories about Mace Windu returning – he too was killed in the prequels when The Emperor and Anakin Skywalker used a Force blast so powerful he was sent plunging to his death.

But… this is Star Wars and an on-screen death scene doesn't necessarily mean a character is gone for good. After all, Darth Maul managed to come back after being bisected on screen in a battle with Qui-Gon Jinn.

Samuel L Jackson has repeatedly campaigned for Windu to return over the years, even revealing he'd convinced George Lucas the character somehow survived.

Even if The Book of Boba Fett writers do consider Mace Windu dead, there's another option for him to appear in the series as a Force Ghost like Luke Skywalker or Yoda in past films.

Will Mace Windu actually appear this season? There are only three more episodes for it to happen…

The Book of Boba Fett is streaming on Disney+, with new episodes every Wednesday.
