Posties successfully delivered a letter with only ‘somewhere in the Yorkshire Dales’ to go by

ROYAL Mail staff turned detective and managed to track down “Chef Mark Dale, somewhere in the Yorkshire Dales”.

Facebook friend Andy Pem posted Mark, 53, a recipe but wrote online that he did so not knowing where he lived.

He scribbled facts about Mark on the envelope to try to help posties including “Likes 4x4 Pajeros, curly haired lad. Some top hotel chef”.

Mark, of Settle, North Yorks, was contacted on Facebook by a postal manager who recognised his name but he refused to give her his address to test Royal Mail further.

He was amazed when the recipe arrived — four days after it was posted.

Andy said: “I can’t believe it found him. Well done Royal Mail."
