Nicole Kidman attended the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie Being the Ricardos on Monday night wearing a dress fit for a Disney queen.
For the occasion, the Oscar winner chose a strapless tulle Armani Privé ball gown, and she looked absolutely regal in it. Royal! See the look for yourself, below:
Kidman paired the gown with Jimmy Choo shoes and an Omega watch.
Being the Ricardos has a limited theatrical release on December 10 before hitting Amazon Prime Video on December 21. Nicole Kidman plays Lucille Ball in the film, which explores the relationship between the famed comedian and her husband, Desi Arnaz, played by Javier Bardem.
“I had massive trepidation about a month prior [to shooting], and Aaron [Sorkin, the director] had to get on the phone and send me emails saying, ‘You’ve got this,’” Kidman revealed to Variety about playing the role. “It was frightening but incredibly exciting.”
Kidman continued, “I fell in love with her as I was reading the script. I realized what she was doing [was] trailblazing for women.”
Sorkin has said on multiple occasions Being the Ricardos doesn't offer impersonations of Ball and Arnaz. “It’s a painting, not a photograph,” he told Variety.
And he told Entertainment Weekly, “I made it clear to everyone, but particularly Nicole and Javier, that I didn’t need them to do a physical impersonation of Lucy and Desi. When Lucy and Desi had to play Lucy and Ricky, I needed some kind of nod toward those characters that are very familiar to us, but makeup or prosthetics, we weren’t going to do any of that. I didn’t want it to be how good an impersonation they were doing.”
He added, “The only thing better than a story people don’t know is a story that people think they know but they’re wrong.”
