It’s been pretty impossible to miss the promotional juggernaut that’s surrounded the House of Gucci movie – from Lady Gaga’s admirable commitment to delivering “painful Italian glamour” on red carpets across the globe, to the perfectly tousled mane that inspired a major hair crush on the Vogue beauty desk (thank you, Jared Leto).

But Salma Hayek, who stars in the film as Giuseppina “Pina” Auriemma (and is married to François-Henri Pinault, CEO of Kering, the luxury conglomerate that owns Gucci), has managed to outdo all of those red-carpet moments with a single sensational swimsuit snap. The 55-year-old bombshell shared a picture of herself on Instagram wearing a black one-piece swimsuit from Gucci’s pre-Fall 2020 collection, branded with “Original Gucci” in gold and silver laminated print. “This is not my wardrobe for ‘House of Gucci’, but I highly recommend it anyway,” she wrote.

Hayek is among the stars proving tired sayings about women in Hollywood becoming irrelevant as they age to be entirely untrue. Not only does the actor – who previously told British Vogue of reaching her fifties that “the best time in my life is now” – look better than ever, she’s joined the ever successful Marvel Universe as part of the cast of Eternals. Not forgetting how her contributions to a 2017 New York Times essay exposing the misdeeds of Harvey Weinstein won her a share of a Pulitzer Prize. Like peers including Jennifer Lopez, Hayek rocketed to fame in the ’90s, but it’s now that she’s at the height of her powers.
