Magic eyes: amazing close-up captures the beauty of a jumping spider

Spot the photographer's reflection

Like a magic eye picture, the more you look here, the more you see.

When photographer Alberto Ghizzi Panizza got up close and personal with this tiny jumping spider, he captured in its reflection himself and a friend, a field of daisies and the spider's eye view of a park scene near the River Po, in Italy.

Panizza captured his mirror image using intricate macro photography, and also caught every detail of the spider's face, including hundreds of tiny coloured hairs and two of its four pairs of eyes.

Jumping spiders have some of the best vision among arthropods and use it in courtship, hunting, and navigation.
