Kevin Clifton, 39, has revealed in his podcast that he was not happy with judge Shirley Ballas', 61, comment about Tilly Ramsay's, 19, Paso Doble performance last week. Tilly and Nikita achieved an overall score of 32 after receiving a mix of scores from the judges.

Paso is my dance, my favourite dance.

Kevin and his sister Joanne spoke about the dance on his podcast The Kevin Clifton Show.

The former Strictly professional asked his sister what she thought of Tilly's Paso Doble.

Joanne said: "I watched it and thought 'aaa' it wasn't like 'oh my gosh'.

"So when the judges came out and gave it amazing scores and Shirley said it was one of the best Paso's she'd seen a female do.

She added: "But then again, Shirley is in the studio and we're not. She might have seen something from close up that we couldn't see on camera."

Kevin said: "I think, you know sometimes with dances you are so picky because you're a ballroom girl. Paso is my dance, my favourite dance.

"And Paso was my most successful dance on Strictly, so I probably am slightly more critical when it comes to Paso.

"There are certain things I want to see and certain things that fire me up in a Paso."

He reiterated that he really likes Tilly and believes she has been doing really well every week, but he does not agree with Shirley's comments about the dance.

Kevin added: "I thought shape wise she did some nice shapes but it was a little too bouncy for me in the walks rather than a dominant striding hill."

The former Strictly professional then went on to say that he agreed with Craig Revel Horwood's comment that she seemed half invested.

Ending the podcast, he said: "When I hear a comment, 'It was one of the best Paso's I've seen a female do on Strictly' my neck twitched a little bit!"

Joanne added again that what you see on camera is entirely different to when you are there.

Tilly and Nikita scored an overall score of 32 after receiving a six from Craig Revel Horwood, an eight from Motsi Mabuse, and nines from Shirley and Anton Du Beke.

Fans on Twitter expressed their opinion on the night, due to confusion with judges scoring to what they were watching.

Jane Pick wrote: "I'm not sure what the judges are on tonight. I saw Tilly struggling and feeling a little awkward and unconfident! I'm with Craig! #TillyandNikita #Strictly2021 #StrictlyComeDancing."

Claire Kingdon said: "How the hell can Tilly have 9’s #StrictlyComeDancing really very very confused."

Andrew Jazzie added: "Two NINE’s for Tilly & Nikita? Get the FBI in. Absolute joke."

Tilly has been in the public eye a lot this week after LBC's Steve Allen "body shamed" her on his morning show.

The young star was praised for calling him out earlier this week, with many celebrity friends rallying around the dancer.

She said: "I won't tolerate people that think it's okay to publicly comment and scrutinize anyone's weight and appearance."
