Love Island fans were left baffled on Tuesday after Chloe Burrows likened Toby Aromolaran's apology to William Shakespeare.

During the episode, Toby, 22, attempted to rekindle his romance with Chloe, 25, after he previously shook the villa by confessing he still has feelings for the marketing executive despite dumping her for Abigail Rawlings who he then ditched for Mary Bedford.

As Toby and Chloe sat outside, she said: "I feel like you didn’t know what you wanted. Do you know what you want now?"

To which the semi-professional footballer teased: "You’ll have to see..."

Toby added: "Kissing and cuddling, it’s not the same...." with Chloe asking: "With other people?" to which he added: "Yeah!"

Chloe was left overjoyed as she exclaimed: "No way. That was really cute! It’s hard because it’s so easy to go back to normal but then I’m like 'No, remember how badly he mugged you off'."

He then added: "Sorry" as Chloe slapped him on the leg and asked him to say it again.

At the end of their chat, Toby said: "I need a cuddle" to which Chloe cuddled him and said: "Oh my little baby!"

Speaking in the Beach Hut afterwards, Chloe likened the moment to Shakespeare and said she was "blown away" by his words.

She said: "For Toby, that was like Shakespeare. Like he knocked me off my feet, he really blew me away. I think that's about as serious a chat Toby and I will have about where our heads are at."

Taking to Twitter, viewers were left baffled as they joked that the "bar is so low" that Chloe was "knocked off her feet" by an apology and she later chose him in the recoupling.

One person said: "Chloe has set the bar low. Toby ditched Chloe for Abi and Mary and she accepted him back after all that? The bar is very low #loveisland."

While a different fan added: "Did Chloe just compare Tobi's words to Shakespeare??? #LoveIsland."

However, other viewers were quick to praise Toby for his growth on the show as they admitted that they loved the Islander with Chloe.
