Dramatic footage shows a group of friends fleeing through apocalyptic forest fires which have ravaged coastal Turkey leaving at least six dead.
The clip is filmed from the back seat of a car as it makes its way down treacherous roads.
The inferno rages all around, smoke blocks out the sun and flames erupt mere feet in front of them.
The driver slams the vehicle into reverse gear and shoots away from the racing fire.
At one point the cameraman leaves the relative safety of the vehicle to record the devastation but soon regrets his decision and urges everyone else to stay inside .
The driver flees the encroaching flames and later the group are seen watching on from a safer distance.
They are also seen inspecting the damage to the luggage-laden car.
More than 100 fires have ripped through the area, killing six people, burning down homes and forcing the authorities to evacuate tourist destinations and villages.
Tourists in the Aegean resort of Bodrum raced to the seashore to wait for rescue boats while flames, fuelled by hot air blown in from Africa, threatened to destroy holiday homes and hotels in the mountains of Marmaris.
As of yesterday the minister of agriculture and forestry, Bekir Pakdemirli, said 91 of the blazes were now under control.
They have so far resulted in the deaths of six people, with the toll rising yesterday when two forest workers were killed.
An 82-year-old man, a married couple and a 25-year-old motorcyclist who was delivering water to firefighters also perished, while hundreds have been hospitalised.
The exact cause of the Mediterranean blazes is not known. While scorching temperatures pushing into the 40s have been blamed others have suggested arson.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who visited the area yesterday and inspected the damage from a helicopter, said "sabotage" was being investigated.
Some have pointed to outlawed Kurdish militant groups.
Erdogan has pledged to cover rent of the thousands who have been forced to flee, rebuild homes and pause taxes and other payments as the nation looks to rebuild.
The number of planes fighting the fires has been increased to 13, he added, and Ukraine, Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran are providing assistance.
"We cannot do anything beyond wishing the mercy of God for the lives we have lost but we can replace everything that was burned," he said.
The fires continue to rip through the coastal provinces of Adana, Osmaniye, Antalya, Mersin and Mugla.
And with temperatures predicted to climb to 47 degrees next week there are concerns they will rage for several days to come.
