Mugger who snatched £692k rare erotic watch from wrist of owner jailed for nine years
A MUGGER who snatched a rare erotic £692,000 watch has been jailed for nine years.
Mehdi Didda, 35, was in a gang who targeted the wealthy for timepieces.
He pounced on Ngoc Cao as he left Selfridges with his wife and tore the RM 69 Erotic Tourbillon from his wrist.
The watch — one of only 30 created by watchmaker Richard Mille — has rotating bars which spell out a sexual message.
Mr Cao was the victim in one of seven robberies by the co-ordinated gang, who would identify targets at high-end stores in central London and put them “under surveillance” before striking.
Didda, of Wandsworth, South London, was convicted of conspiracy to rob, handling stolen goods and possessing criminal property.
Accomplice Mohamed Safri, 36, was convicted of conspiracy to rob but cleared of conspiracy to handle stolen goods.
