The pair reminisced about their time on together as Claire and Jamie Fraser as they answered questions from fans of the Starz series. The questions led to some rather surprising responses with even apologising to one of his co-stars for being “annoying” on set.

The first Outlander fan up to ask a question wanted to know which scene they spent a large amount of time on due to laughing.

While they didn’t pinpoint a particular scene, Caitriona divulged: “I think we might have annoyed David Berry one day because we were laughing so much.

“Sorry David, we’ll take this moment to apologise properly.”

“Sorry,” Sam chipped in. “We’re really sorry David that we’re not professional. Next question!”

The pair went on to discuss their favourite scene they shot together for season five.

Sam admitted his wasn’t really fun and came from one of the more harrowing and dark episodes.

“To be honest, weirdly my favourite scene and it’s probably not a fun scene but it was you by the river in I think it would be the last episode after the assault,” Sam detailed.

“There was something about that scene, you were fantastic and there was just this weight and gravity to the whole scene.

“To be honest I couldn’t really hear or each other because there was so much from the waterfalls.

“You really took it there and I thought it was a fun scene to try and play off the other actor. I really enjoyed that one.”

Caitriona shared: “Actually I love our drunk walk scene.”

“That scene was quite light hearted and light and it was nice to see Claire and Jamie still in love and enjoying each other’s company,” Sam added. “Good choice!”

“I strong armed the armour. I went to town on the armour and they now have nothing left.

“I have a house full of weapons.”

“You have a closet full of swords,” Caitriona exclaimed as she too had a confession. “I may have taken a little something from the 1960s apartment.”

As well as answering fan questions, the pair also teased details of season six with Sam explaining he has started reading the sixth book by Diana Gabaldon.

“I’ve started book six and I’m about half way through but I haven’t got all the way through yet. It’s so interesting to see what the writers have done and where we are going,” he revealed.

“I don’t know where we end up. Where we leave season five, the whole family is fractured, they are together but fractured. Claire has some healing to do as well.”
