It's a very serious condition 😲

While snoring is quite common, it could also be a sign of a condition called obstructive sleep apnea which happens when the muscles in the back of your throat relax too much to allow for normal breathing. This condition has been linked to obesity and getting older and causes breathing to stop and start while you sleep.

The condition can seriously impact a person's quality of life and people are able to get financial support through Personal Independence Payment . Across the UK, there are around 2,217 people who are claiming the support for sleep apnea and conditions of the upper respiratory tract, KentLive reports.

Other main conditions on PIP claims are musculoskeletal, neurological or respiratory disease. You can get PIP even if you’re working, have savings or are getting most other benefits.
