Yellowstone season three episode nine revealed ranchhand Teeter (played by Jennifer Landon) is alive, much to the delight of fans. She and Coby (Denim Richards) were trampled on by horses at a creek and viewers were concerned they were dead. Some fans have come up with a theory suggesting Teeter is actually an undercover agent.

Is Teeter an undercover agent?

Teeter quickly became a fan-favourite in the series due to her hardy nature and strong Texan accent.

The pink-haired ranch hand made her mark at the Dutton Ranch and she has taught everyone not to mess with her.

However, fans have become worried for her future after she and Coby were left for dead in a creek.

The pair had started to develop a romantic relationship, but on August 10 Landon published a Tweet which suggests they could be in trouble.

She said: "Till death do us part? @DenimRichard #skinnydipping #YellowstoneTV." The pair had been skinny dipping in the creek when they were approached by some rivals and were trampled on by their horses.

While some fans fear she may be dead, others have suggested she may have entered the ranch as an undercover agent.

Fr0nk3nst31n said on Reddit: "Hi all, I have had a theory that Teeter (pink hair) is an undercover agent since episode four 'Going Back To Cali'.

"Right before she initiates the fight with the female biker they glance at each other like they are familiar.

"Given what we know about undercover cops in biker gangs, it seemed to me like this might be the most likely scenario.

"Given what happened with Wade (Boots Southerland) in the most recent episode and the return of Ryan Bingham's character, I sense there may be some kind of investigation coming down on the Duttons."

The Duttons have been trying to protect their ranch from development and they have made many enemies along the way.

Fr0nk3nst31n continued: "I just felt it was clear that they recognized each other by the way it was filmed, maybe she is not a cop but it seems like they definitely know each other.

"The only reason I assumed they are cops is because of that classic pick a fight move TV shows always do with undercovers."

However other fans have said this theory would be a "massive reach" and it is highly unlikely.

They believe Teeter survives the incident at the creek, but they think she will be left severely injured.

Teeter joined the ranch in episode two of season three, and she became the first female ranch hand.

Not much is known about her character's past, but she and Coby had been targeted by Wade as an act of revenge against John Dutton (Kevin Costner).

There is a chance Teeter joined the ranch for more than one reason, and hopefully fans will get to find out more about her character if she survives.

Fans commented on Landon's Twitter clue and they were totally in shock. One said: "Oh my gosh, surely they are still alive?".

Another fan said: "There is no way that's it, right? It would take more than that to get rid of Teeter. No, it can't be it for Colby and Teeter, no freaking way."

Viewers have become obsessed with Teeter's character and they have praised Landon for her portrayal.

The actress is the daughter of Michael Landon - an American actor, director and producer who died in 1991.

He was known for his roles in Little House on the Prairie, Bonanza and Highway to Heaven.

Landon showed her gratitude towards her fans on Twitter ahead of tonight's episode, saying: "Just want to say a huge thanks to all the @Yellowstone fans.

"The show couldn't be what it is without you."
