How to clean a shower

Posting in a Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook group, one social media user asked for tips on how to clean her bathroom.

She shared pictures of mould in her shower and asked for tips to quickly remove it.

The woman wrote: "What’s the best way of removing mould from a shower? Tried the cream pink stuff and it didn’t work. Thanks in advance."

The post was soon flooded with comments as other Facebook users shared their quick and easy hacks.

While there are many pricey cleaning products on the market, many homeowners recommended simply using bleach and cotton wool or tissue.

One wrote: "I used the bleach and cotton wool balls trick and left overnight... magic."

"Bleach in a spray bottle, spray it on, cover with kitchen roll, spray more and leave overnight, even if you have to do it a few times it will work," a Facebook user added.

A third said: "Cotton wool soaked in bleach, place on and leave overnight."

"Soak some tissue on thick bleach and leave it on over the night," another commented.

Updating her original post, the woman explained she tried the simple trick for herself.

Commenting on her own post, she wrote: "Thanks for all your recommendations.

"I thought I would try cotton wool pads soaked in bleach overnight before buying any new product and it’s worked an absolute treat."

Instead of opting for expensive cleaning products, she was able to transform her shower by using bleach and cotton wool.
