Kate Middleton is working on a photography project based on the past few weeks in lockdown - and she wants more entrants from members of the public.

The Duchess of Cambridge is known to have a love for photography, often taking the candid at-home snaps shared of her children, and has been encouraging members of the public to share her passion by submitting photos of life under lockdown to her new "Hold Still" project.

The competition has three core themes - Helpers and Heroes; Your New Normal and Acts of Kindness - and has already had 12,000 entrants.

In a video message, Kate encouraged more to submit their work, saying: "There have been so many amazing entries to Hold Still over the last few weeks. From families up and down the country showing how they are adapting to life during lockdown, through to some of the most amazing NHS and social care staff who are putting their lives on the line to save the lives of others.

"But it isn't too late to take part. So please take a moment to capture what life is like for you, because together I hope that we can build a lasting illustration of just how our country pulled together during the pandemic. I can't wait to share the final 100 images with you."

Kate is so invested in the project, that she's recently been leaving encouraging responses underneath Instagram posts from members of the general public who've entered using the hashtags #HoldStill and #HoldStill2020 - which is super unusual.

The winning images will form part of a virtual exhibition with the National Portrait Gallery (of which she is patron), and members of the public have seven days to submit their own photographs.

Hey, it's worth a shot if you're in with a chance of an Insta like from an actual, right?
