Harry Styles’s NYC Wardrobe Is Peak Brit-Boy In America

Just over a week since his rousing performance of “Falling” at the 2020 Brit Awards and Harry Styles is back on stage. Shutting down central Manhattan to perform on the Today Show — America’s answer to This Morning – Harry took the opportunity to wear a whole new set of eye-catching threads, while serenading the audience and those tuning in at home with tracks including “Lights Up” and “Kiwi”.

It might have been breakfast time, but Harry dressed for the occasion in a pastel salmon pink blazer unbuttoned to reveal a polka-dot tie worn against an AirForce-blue shirt. Harry kept up the clashing tailoring up with maroon flared trousers and white heeled boots: all Gucci, naturally. The look had a decidedly English flair to it: marrying his native country’s reputation for fine tailoring, with the eclectic reputation the British wardrobe has picked up over time.

Earlier in the morning, rehearsing ahead of the televised concert, Harry brought an additional touch of British flair to the NYC proceedings. The musician wore a £1,250 flamboyant patchwork knit cardigan by celebrated London-based designer JW Anderson, worn with turn-up jeans by Gucci, his favourite plain white Vans, signature pearls and vintage T-shirt. The look was as much packed with high-fashion credits as it was with relaxed and retro rehearsal vibes.

With just weeks to go until Harry kicks off his second worldwide tour, the clues of what we might expect him to wear on the dates are starting to fall into place. We know there is going to be less of the floral suits, and more of a leaning to specifically one of Harry’s three Brit Awards looks. “We have definitely been teasing elements of the tour wardrobe for a while now,” his stylist Harry Lambert told Miss Vogue. “And one of the [Brit Awards] looks is a taste of things to come… but I’m not going to tell you which one.”

Until April 13th…
