Laurence Fox has continued to slam Jameela Jamil, labelling her a ‘bad example to young women’ after previously wading into the Munchausen’s debate.

And if you feel like you’re living in Groundhog Day then never fear the monotony in his comments – we’re right there with you.

Last week the pair got into it on social media, hurling unsavoury words at one another with Laurence mocking her for recently coming out as queer and claimed he now identified as a vegetable.

Not…the same thing…but ok.

The 41-year-old actor has had a controversial few weeks – and revealed he received death threats – when he suggested that playing ‘the race card’ is getting ‘boring’ in a stint on Question Time.

He was also met with a wave of backlash after attacking 1917 director Mendes for including a Sikh character in the World War I, claiming it ‘forced diversity’ on viewers.

Speaking about the ‘woke’ culture, with the roll of an eye, he’s now defended his comments about the ‘religion’ as well as his thoughts on Jameela.

‘One of the most pernicious aspects to me of this woke religion, is people feel they can preach at you while not obeying any of the rules of their own religion,’ he said on TalkRadio this week. ‘And I think Jameela, who referred to me in an extremely rude way, without having never met the girl, she decided to lay into me.’

He continued: ‘I had some light-hearted banter…I would never call for the end of her career, I think she dines out on victimhood and I think she’s a bad example to young women.’

Laurence added that young people ‘need to take responsibility for themselves’ and feel ‘strong and empowered and encouraged and loved’ by those around them.

However, he added when it came to The Good Place star Jameela: ‘I think she’s divisive and I think she spreads things that are not helpful in this world and I won’t encourage it.’

Referring to Jameela’s coming out as queer, Laurence added: ‘Aren’t we all a bit queer? I have days when I’m really queer. I feel a bit queer today.’

And he’s still on this broccoli business, after saying he now identifies as the cruciferous vegetable.

‘I am a broccoli. Anyone else who is a part of the broccoli community…What I’m trying to say with that is don’t self-identity,’ he continued. ‘Say “hello man, my name is so and so”, and let’s have a chat.

‘Let’s not go speaking as a white privileged male or as a black lesbian of no power or whatever it is we speak.

‘I don’t want to be introduced to your identity, I want to get to know you and as I know people are saying I say this too many times, but I’m much more interested in the content of someone’s character.’

Not sure coming back at someone’s coming out as queer as saying you’re a vegetable is quite the right note to hit, though.
