10 Years Younger is back - but did its new doctor take a decade off OUR face?

I’m always excited for a new series of 10 Years Younger, but never more so than this year. Its expert team now includes Phi Clinic founder Dr Tapan Patel who’s renowned among beauty editors for his subtle age-proofing skills, keeping time at bay without giving the game away.

To demonstrate exactly what he means, he pulls up an image of me from my first-ever visit and compares it to my current-day face. Overall I’m ageing well, he says , but I’m losing volume on my cheeks, leading to lines around my mouth and ‘mild jowl formation’. Jowls are apparently the latest ‘hot zone’ in cosmetic enhancement, and Tapan will be using a slightly thicker filler to sharpen up my jawline and restore my age-recessed chin."Yes," he agrees, "except this is going to be very subtle. Nobody will be able to tell what you’ve had done unless they compared your before and after photos." I can’t scramble onto the couch fast enough.

The next day I’m not surprised to see a corking bruise blooming on my swollen chin, and there then follows a week of slathering on MAC’s thickest concealer. However, all is forgotten once the swelling subsides and I get to inspect the before and after photos.
