BELLEFONTE, Pennsylvania - A Pennsylvania judge on Friday sustained the 30-to-60-year prison sentence that former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky received after his 2012 conviction for sexually assaulting teenage boys.

Visiting Judge Maureen Skerda re-sentenced Sandusky, 75, to the same prison stretch as the one his trial judge imposed, which later became illegal because it was based on a minimum sentencing requirement. The re-sentencing hearing at the Centre County Court of Common Pleas, just 16km from Penn State where Sandusky had been assistant to longtime head coach Joe Paterno, was ordered by a Pennsylvania Superior Court in February.
