MUNICH, GERMANY - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Saturday said he wanted to turn the page on President Donald Trump's impeachment scandal, which has left its mark on ties between the two nations.

The US House of Representatives impeached Trump for pressuring Ukraine to investigate his political opponents, dangling military aid to Ukraine and a White House visit in return. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko, also in Munich, said the impeachment saga had weighed on the country's relationship with the United States, a crucial ally for Kiev in the face of a resurgent Russia.

Volker resigned last September before testifying in the US Congress as part of the impeachment inquiry and has yet to be replaced.
