At least 22 killed in Turkey quake, thousand injuredAt least 22 people have been killed after Eastern Turkey was rocked by a 6.8 magnitude earthquake on Friday (January 25). \n The quake struck about 340 miles east of the capital Ankara and was followed by nearly 400 aftershocks, 12 of which measured more than 4 in magnitude. \n Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Authority said more than a thousand others were injured and in hospitals across the region. \n Drone footage showed rescue workers trawling through collapsed buildings, in a desperate search for survivors. \n Media as close as Syria and far away as Lebanon reported they also felt the quake. \n Straddling seismic faultlines, Turkey is prone to earthquakes. \n The country's interior minister said Turkey had learnt lessons from previous disasters which helped it address Friday's incident.
