WASHINGTON - US President Donald Trump on Wednesday refused to clearly guarantee a peaceful transfer of power should he lose the upcoming US election in November to Joe Biden.
Apparently referring to the increased use of mail-in ballots - due to the coronavirus pandemic - he said:"You know that I've been complaining very strongly about the ballots and the ballots are a disaster." At the press conference, Trump seemed to suggest annulling what are expected to be the huge numbers of mailed-in ballots, saying that in such a scenario, he would remain in power.
Trump is set to nominate a replacement on Saturday for the late liberal-leaning justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. His Republican Party, which has a majority in the Senate, is then expected to quickly confirm the nominee.
Dangerous times for America...!
What? Possible under legislation?
The fact that he’s doing what he’s doing, and the system doesn’t stop him or remove him from his position, shows how broken and weak their way of government is. He’s already doing impeachable actions daily and getting away with it.
He wants to transfer of power to his children.. just like emperor. 😂😂😂
Don't blame Trump, it's the American that voted him in. So much for the greatest democracy in the world. So anyone think democracy is good for the world?
Well, he want to be the last president and then rename the country to his name and whole world will see the fall of a once great country. That is what he’s thinking.
What do you expect from a thug! He is a casino operator and he will cost problems to US! Oh my God!
Mr Trump has no authority to refuse transferring power. In the American system, transfer of power is automatic. If the vote goes against Trump and he refuses to leave office, the secret service is empowered to escort him away! Constitutional democracies are never without remedy!
