Television may have been what helped people get through the lockdowns and quarantines of the past year, but the Emmy Awards themselves just can't seem to get a break.

"We do have some people wanting to dial in, and we understand that," Maury McIntyre, president of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, told Variety.Last year, the Emmys was held virtually with celebrities joining remotely from homes, gardens and hotel rooms around the world rather than the usual in-person event for more than 4,000 people.

The former scored 20 Emmys nods, including best comedy series, and nominations for lead actor Jason Sudeikis and six other actors.
