AHMEDABAD, India: Tens of thousands of people packed into a stadium in western India to welcome US President Donald Trump on Monday as he began his first official visit to the country at a time when relations that have been buffeted by a trade dispute.
US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump walk with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi upon their arrival at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. Folk dancers carrying colourful umbrellas danced alongside the red carpet as drummers, trumpeters and other musicians performed on the airport grounds to welcome Trump and the US delegation.
But Modi, who has built a personal rapport with Trump, is pulling out the stops for Trump's visit even though prospects for even a limited trade deal were slim. In the stadium, many people were wearing customised white hats saying"Namaste Trump", while workers handed out thousands of cardboard masks of the US president.
Trump, who seeks re-election in November, routinely gets the biggest audience of any candidate in the US presidential race, ranging up to 20,000 or so, and he has been grudgingly admiring of Modi’s ability to get a bigger crowd than him.

How come I never see CNA catch our dear Opposition party members mispronouncing their words during rallies? Obviously CNA has nothing better to write or just want to make fun of another Head of State. So would U publish if our own Head of State mispronounce English words too?

It’s natural for any foreign leaders to make such mistakes as it’s not easy to pronounce certain names exactly the way like native.. well done Trump for a good try 👏👏
Stupid media bitching about everything again. Yes I hate trump and yes he did mispronouce several words, but why do you lot have to focus on the negative of every single event and issue?
