"There is no need to rush to buy masks," said Dr Lam in a Facebook post, adding that the Government was working with retailers like NTUC FairPrice and Unity Pharmacy to push out the stocks.AdvertisementAddressing the rationing on the sale of masks by some retailers, Dr Lam said it was to ensure that there was adequate supply and to prevent unneccessary hoarding.
He added that the Government is also working with retailers to manage pricing and reminded them"not to profiteer" from the increased demand. "As there is currently no local transmission of the 2019-nCoV infection, masks are generally not needed in our normal daily activities," Mr Lam said, also reminding Singaporeans to stay calm and vigilant.several retail outlets ran out of both N95 masks and surgical masksMOH however said in a press conference earlier last week that there was “more than a sufficient” number of masks if there is a surge in demand.
I can’t recall using a facemask other than at a doctor’s office when I have been experiencing symptoms of a cold. Using such a mask after all doesn’t protect its user from contracting illnesses of others, but only the user from spreading his or her germs to others.
Just went to 13 pharmacies, including sengkang hospital & polyclinic. Surgical masks & hand sanitizers ALL SOLD OUT. My mum and I are sick but I guess the only way for us to have a chance to get masks is to go out and spread our virus to everyone else. 'Sufficient masks'? Where
All of us are sensibly aware that the supply of masks have run out countrywide. We are buying them to protect ourselves & our families. Not re-selling them for profits. Be truthful & tell us when the new supplies will arrive.
Maybe u hv to release the supply for our use first. And maybe prevent sellers from charging exorbitant prices while at it.

Really? Where are they? Coughing today, but no masks to be found in ntuc, guardian, Watsons, polyclinic or hospital pharmacy. Despite my efforts to be socially responsible, am getting the evil eye when people see me cough 😖
