Joseph Schooling did Singapore proud at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. He opened the door to possibilities for Singapore sportsmen and women. The way forward now from his loss in Tokyo is to learn from Schooling how he achieved his Brazilian feat. More crucially, Singapore sports must also learn why he was unable to repeat it in Tokyo or at other competitions on the world stage.

P2 When these thing happen it is single Jo and if there result team Singapore? Rather odd. :) Just food for thought. Would like to take the opportunity to thank Mr Joseph schooling and all sportsman for their performance all these while through various generations. Thanks.

Part 1 Times changed long time. From one or two Olympic representative to a contingent with medals. The sport fraternity have come very far. The system here should recognise it value and be more support friendly and take responsibility.

'They are doing their best': President Halimah calls for support for athletes after Schooling Olympic exitSINGAPORE: President Halimah Yacob has called on Singaporeans to support their national athletes after “negative, hurtful comments” against Joseph ... It is ok to loose, but not at that kind of result. No respect for the Olympics. While I am not a sport person, we need to have empathy and grace for those that gave their all and did not win. Winning is a bonus but the journey towards that is what matters (Spirit of Excellence) Let’s support our local talents regardless of the results☺️ Be nice and kind to our athletes regardless of their results. Only with a supportive culture, can we have a strong sport team in the future. They have put in their best efforts at Tokyo 2020 Olympics. My congratulations to all. Cya at the next Olympics again. Cheers.
