JUST IN: Validity period of Singapore passports to be increased to 10 years for applications submitted by citizens aged 16 and above starting October

SINGAPORE: Singapore passports will be valid for 10 years, up from the current five, for applications submitted from October, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority said on Friday .

"As children’s facial features change more rapidly, renewing their passport every five years will allow the photograph in their passport to be updated more frequently, which will minimise identification problems when going through immigration," said ICA.

waste money to renew if bubbles kept bursting LOL , with the virus kept changing goal pole , very hard to be able to travel within the next 1 year at least

It’s about time yeah

Can migrant workers apply? What about Rohingya refugees?

I might be wrong but wasn't the validity 10 years many years ago? Anyway, this change is appropriate and timely.
