sg/w9u2 SINGAPORE – Singapore will be nominating the kebaya for Unesco’s intangible cultural heritage list, in a multinational effort with Brunei, Malaysia and Thailand. The National Heritage Board (NHB) on Wednesday said this will be Singapore’s first multinational nomination to the Unesco Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, which is slated for submission in March 2023. A consortium that includes Abu Dhabi-owned Masdar and Infinity Power Holdings will finish building the 10GW onshore plant by 2030, said Mohamed Mansour, chairman of Infinity Power. According to NHB’s heritage resource portal Roots. Englishman ElShorbagy, the world number three and 2017 world champion, enjoyed a smooth 3-0 (11-6, 11-6, 11-8) victory over reigning US Open champion Diego Elias of Peru to clinch his fourth title this season.gov. The Egyptian government will buy the power, some of which may be exported via existing and planned cables to Europe, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Libya, Mansour said in an interview at the , which ended on Sunday.sg, the kebaya, an upper garment for women, is “a central aspect in the representation and display of cultural heritage and identity for Malay, Peranakan and other communities in Singapore, and is a notable part of our heritage as a multicultural port city”. Most people work office hours and weekends are for sleeping in.

NHB said the kebaya is not just a garment but an important medium in which Malay and Peranakan cultures may be represented, through various motifs that are embroidered on it. They are looking at two locations in Egypt’s Western Desert, one near Minya and the other Aswan, both of which have wind speeds that can reach 10 metres per second, according to Mr Mansour. Samuel Kang took on Raphael Kandra while Au Yeong Wai Yhann went up against Hollie Naughton, and late entrant Leia Lee Zi Fang faced the challenge of Welshwoman Emily Whitlock. Malaysia had proposed and coordinated the multinational nomination, said NHB, adding that the idea was discussed as part of a series of working meetings among “a number of countries” in 2022. Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand agreed to work on the nomination together, said NHB. Governments and investors are pouring money into wind and solar plants around the world as they seek to transition away from fossil fuels and limit global warming to 1. The four countries welcome other countries to join the multinational nomination, the board added. What a privilege to be able to get on the court with German #1 and World #19 Raphael Kandra after watching him play some thrilling matches over the years. The result of the nomination is expected to be announced in end-2024. The consortium also includes Egypt’s Hassan Allam Utilities.

NHB said kebayas also reflect the ornate skills and expertise of their maker, as well as demonstrate a blending of cultures. For instance, motifs on a kebaya may feature traditional Javanese motifs and batik patterns such as the palm fruit, or motifs from Malay, Chinese, Indian and European cultures, such as flowers, animals or mythical creatures. The same group is also working on an Egyptian green-hydrogen facility that may be able to produce 480,000 tonnes a year of the fuel by 2030, said Mansour. Tayeb had a better start to the second game as she controlled play well to move her opponent around to earn game ball at 10-8. Kebaya-related crafts and practices were added to NHB’s intangible cultural heritage inventory in October 2022, joining other elements such as orchid cultivation and soya sauce making on the 102-strong local list. The upcoming nomination follows the successful inscription of hawker culture – Singapore’s first element on the Unesco intangible cultural heritage list – on Dec 16, 2020, after the country officially submitted its bid on March 26, 2019. While Infinity Power is able to secure funding for its projects, rising interest rates might lower the firm’s profits, said Mr Mansour. As at 2021, 61 multinational elements have been added to the list. “She’s had a baby and she’s been terrorising all of the draws.

They include craftsmanship of mechanical watchmaking and art mechanics – a joint nomination by Switzerland and France, as well as Arabic coffee, practised in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar. “This will make projects more costly.
