SINGAPORE — Singapore Airlines has unveiled two premium flagship lounges at Singapore’s Changi Airport after a S$50 million upgrade, signalling its confidence in the recovery of air travel as border measures loosen.
The premium lounges reopen at a time when Changi Airport is seeing increasing passenger movements. Passenger movements crossed the one-million mark for the first time in two years in March and passenger traffic in April neared 40 per cent of pre-pandemic levels. The number is expected to rise to more than half pre-pandemic volume this year.
“Opening these lounges at this time signals our commitment to SIA’s premium brand and growth strategy. It reinforces our position as Changi Airport’s anchor airline, and reflects our confidence in Singapore’s future as a pre-eminent global air hub,” SIA’s chief executive officer Goh Choon Phong said in a statement.
The SilverKris lounge is divided into three areas, comprising The Private Room, as well as the first class and business class sections.
