Prince Charles has shared a personal message with the public about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The royal – who contracted the virus last week and has since recovered – chose not only to speak about his experience, but to shine a light on the impact the virus is having on older members of our community.
"Having recently gone through the process of contracting this coronavirus, luckily with relatively mild symptoms, I now find myself on the other side of the illness, but still in no less a state of social distance and general isolation. — Clarence House April 1, 2020 "As we are all learning, this is a strange, frustrating and often distressing experience when the presence of family and friends is no longer possible and the normal structures of life are suddenly removed.
Early last week, Charles had developed mild symptoms of the virus and, after testing positive, followed NHS guidelines to self-isolate for seven days.
