SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is giving an update on the COVID-19 situation in an address to the nation.
In a Facebook post earlier on Friday , Mr Lee said that the current COVID-19 situation in Singapore has been “under control” so far, but the Government wants to “take a few more steps”.“Since COVID-19, we have responded to the crisis calmly and systematically, planning ahead and adjusting our measures as the situation changed,” he said.
"Let me reassure Singaporeans that our food supply is secure and adequate. Buy just what you need, and share any extra you have with those who need it. Let’s stay calm and united during this challenging period," he added.Here are some key points from his speech:This will be the third time Mr Lee has spoken to the nation on the COVID-19 situation.that the situation in Singapore remained under control, and set out various measures that might need to be implemented going forward.

The people to suffer the most will be low wage Indian workers in Singapore. The gov already exploits them and Little India is in gross camera surveillance. No racism here :)

Everyone has a part to make this a success. Stay home and don’t need the Govt to give you directions. Do it for yourself and loved ones.
Only take away is available choice for restaurants on this new temporary regulation. technically, no trade business except retail store market.

mrchungonfire We're in that status already. Right now until April 29. Scary. We have early first hour shopping at some stores for we mature people. Which I will be taking advantage of. Can always sleep later. In the meantime my garden is really starting to look better. 😁
A very2 welcome step to curb this outbreak.. maybe crowd control enforcement to be placed at all dry and wet markets to control the panic buying despite government assurances that supplies are enough.. just my small thought..

500 in hospital , still ok lah , just that they scared those bangledesh and india work permit workers continue to socialise , infected the whole dorm , impact their efforts , i thought it was contained very well , another week or so , imported cases one by one recovered

I implore the governnent to provide support for supermarket and delivery staff who are overworked and understaff especially where the Malaysians did not come in or went back home already.

The main thing countries need to do at this point is look at thei neighbors, see the prototype of what works and what doesn't. This pandemic could have a lesser effect than what is projected. Countries must be smart, it could become an economic and health disaster
