Taiwan's Tai Tzu-Ying said she will have to cut out the mistakes if she is to make an impact at the Tokyo Olympics and will only begin to think about the threat posed by China's Chen Yu Fei if they both advance to the final.

World No. 1 Tai looked good in winning the opening game against Switzerland's Sabrina Jaquet 21-7 in their group match but was less tidy in the second, allowing her opponent, ranked 45 places below her, to pick up 13 points before Tai secured the win."I need to reduce the number of mistakes I make and try to get into the rhythm of the match faster ... I can't control my mistakes," Tai said after the match at Musashino Forest Sport Plaza.

But things have been different on the biggest stage of all, with Tai coming away from London and Rio empty-handed.

That would mean that all our past efforts at decreasing plastic waste would have been for nothing.'This concern is echoed by those working in the food and beverage industry. This Korean restaurant in Taipei has seen its costs rise due to all the extra packaging. But when it comes to the environmental cost the chef Pan Yen-ming says he feels helpless.'I have to confess that I choose to close my eyes to this, I have to forward the social responsibility for this to others, pretending that I don't know. Then when I think about it in the middle of the night, it is really not a good thing to do, but what can you do?'One environmental official told Reuters that, eventually, the tide of waste would fall back to where it was before the pandemic struck. For now, he said, the priority was battling COVID.
