Why fly when you can hitch a ride?

Singapore — A rather daring Myna bird decided to take a quick stretch break on the bonnet of a car last Friday .

The bird, which sat on former National Coach Ghana Segaran’s car last Friday evening, did so for about six minutes before it made its way off. Mr Ghana told TISG that as he was driving, he stopped at the Sengkang Riverside Park to take a call. The car had stopped, but the engine was still running, with the radio still on, when the bird decided to hop on.“My car engine was switched on, yet the bird did not fly away. It was sitting there and looking around and at me”, he said.

In videos taken by Mr Ghana, the Myna could be seen looking around at first, even pausing to look at him at one point. After it made its checks, it sat on the bonnet and stretched its wings before flying off after a while, said Mr Ghana. He joked that the bird probably was trying to hitch a ride somewhere.to share about a pigeon that landed on the bonnet of his moving car. The unbothered pigeon even stayed on throughout the duration of the video, hitching a ride from North Bridge Road to Clarke Quay.
