Manchester United swings to annual net loss as revenue slides

REUTERS: Manchester United slumped to a net loss of 23.2 million pounds in the last financial year as the coronavirus disrupted fixture schedules and forced soccer clubs to play matches behind closed doors.

"We are also committed to playing a constructive role in helping the wider football pyramid through this period of adversity, while exploring options for making the English game stronger and more sustainable in the long-term," he added. United, who have made mixed start to the new English Premier League season on the pitch, said revenue in the year ended June 30 fell 19per cent to 509 million pounds, with some fixtures being delayed beyond that date.
