Share this contentNEW BRUNSWICK, New Jersey: Johnson & Johnson said on Monday it was slashing the price of its version of tuberculosis drug bedaquiline to US$340 from US$400, for a six-month treatment, in low- and middle-income countries, to scale up its use during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Between 2020 and 2025 an additional 1.4 million TB deaths could be registered as a direct consequence of the pandemic, the World Health Organization said in May.
