As the coronavirus pandemic threatens to bring U.S. economic activity to a halt, American businesses are jockeying for a financial lifeline from President Donald Trump's administration and Congress.

Here is a look at requests to federal or state lawmakers for aid to offset the economic fallout of the coronavirus.The National Association of Manufacturers called for the federal government to create a resiliency fund that would include US$1.4 trillion in loans to help manufacturers and small businesses.
